1.  To enable people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those who may be at risk of suicide, to receive confidential emotional support at any time of the day or night from appropriately trained Samaritans, in order to improve their emotional health and to reduce the incidence of suicide.

 

2.  To promote a better understanding in society of suicide, suicidal behaviour and the value of expressing feelings which may otherwise lead to suicide or impaired emotional health

Yapton and District Cottage Gardeners' Society

To promote horticulture, cookery, craft and photography through holding 4 shows a year. These shows also provide social opportunities for people of all ages who visit during the afternoon. Evening meetings are held with speakers on subjects of interest, and visits to gardens are made during the summer months.

Providing a free and confidential community mediation service across West Sussex using trained and accredited local volunteer mediators. We specialise in neighbour disputes and conflicts within families.

Arun Co-Ordinated Community Transport

To provide transport to the Yapton inhabitants this would include the elderly, infirm and those that unable to manage public transport we also provide minibuses to community groups.

 

We also run the Dial a Ride and Social Car Service in the area, out of a client database of 3087 registered clients 27 clients reside in Yapton parish.
